Shortlisted for 2025 Business to Arts Award

August 15, 2025

We're excited to share 'Tern the Tide' has been shortlisted for this year’s Business to Arts Awards in the ESB Creative Sustainability category; recognising creative partnerships that address themes around the environment, climate crisis, and circular economy and inspire positive change within the communities they engage with. You can read the full shortlist this year here, and more about the awards this year in this Irish Times Article.

It's wonderful our partnership with Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail in particular is getting this recognition. Collaboration was key to the projects success and working alongside all involved emboldened our process and enriched project outcomes; Creative Ireland, the team BirdWatch Ireland, not forgetting all of the local community who got stuck in at our creative workshops and the wider network of artists, technical experts and designers who assisted the team with getting the final artworks, website, install, workshops and events over the line.

This project was created to celebrate BirdWatch Irelands important work at the NPWS Little Tern Conservation, which continues this Summer with 24/7 monitoring and protection from predation between Kilcoole and Newcastle beach, Co. Wicklow. Now a permanent public sculpture co-created from repurposed old railway signage is in place highlighting their annual work and as a reminder that we all can make a collective difference when we take science-led Climate Action.

This Summer keep your dogs on leads, and on the path when visiting this trail from Kilcoole station to Newcastle between May-Sep is a simple step which supports these beautiful and fragile birds to nest and feed throughout the local area.

A hearty congratulations to all shortlisted and looking forward to the award ceremony on Sept 8th at the National Concert Hall, Dublin!
